Thomas E. Vorpahl, M.D. – Founding Board Member

Thomas E. Vorpahl, M.D.  – Founding Board Member Dr. Vorpahl currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Technical Resource Management, Inc. (TRM). He is licensed by the Arizona Medical Board. Apart from his work with TRM, he is also engaged in the practice of clinical and anatomical pathology at Flagstaff Medical Center. He has practiced pathology in Arizona since 1978 and originally founded Alliance Medical Laboratory in 1989. Dr. Vorpahl is certified by the American Board of Pathology and has held licensure in four states.

Dr. Vorpahl received his undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1967. The same institution awarded his medical degree in 1970. He served as a general medical officer with the United States Air Force in 1971-1973. Following his military service, he completed his pathology residency in 1977. In 1988 he was the first medical examiner in Arizona to obtain post mortem DNA evidence, later presented at a murder trial.

Dr. Vorpahl has extensive training and experience in various facets of laboratory medicine, infectious disease and toxicology. He has additional experience in laboratory management and organizational governance. He holds active memberships in the College of American Pathologists, the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons and the Arizona Pathology Association.
