PathoGene follows an in-license, develop, out-license business model. As such, PathoGene is always looking for opportunities to in- license intellectual property, collaborate on development, and to out-license the assays that the company has developed.

In-licensing:

PathoGene is interested in licensing intellectual property that is consistent with its focus on infectious diseases where strain identification and/or antimicrobial resistance is important to clinical decision making and or disease surveillance. Of particular interest are infectious diseases that are problematic in the hospital environment or are typically hospital acquired infections.

Out-licensing

PathoGene is interested in opportunities to license the assays that the company develops to IVD companies in the molecular diagnostics market. While the assays that we develop currently are PCR based, the assays can be re- developed, using the same targets, for other molecular technologies. Licensing is available for research use, clinical diagnostics and veterinary markets worldwide. Current licensing opportunities as of September 2011; Staphylococcus multiplex assay for the identification and differentiation of multiple pathogenic strains of Staphylococcus, including MRSA.
